Not a fun day in our home 7-23-2011

So the Morning of July 23, 2011 did not start off to well. I awoke at 4 am bleeding really bad, there was blood everywhere. So Rusty woke up Tyler and told him to hold the fort till we returned. We got to the hospital and got the bleeding undercontrol. Still not sure what is wrong I am going to see my doctor on Monday. They just told me to take it easy. We had a summer block party that afternoon. I went over for a bit then returned home to rest. Then out of no where my family is running inside and saying that Madison got hurt really bad.She was playing on a bounce house when a gust of wind came and blew it over with her in it. We looked her over and decided to take her to the ER. She did not look good at all. She got 6 stitches. Some on her forhead, on the back of her neck and her back. She was a trooper she did not even cry. Then the doctor noticed she was not using her neck, they took x-rays and everything looked good but he wanted her to wear a brace for a day or so to be safe. So we started our day at the same ER at 4am and ended there at 11pm. Needless to say we are all doing well and hope to recover soon.

Oh and Rusty started a new job so we are in between insurance right now. So that is the icing on the cake.

Hope all is well with everyone, we love you.

The Twins are 5!!!!!!!!!!!!

Five years ago on May 26,2006 I gave birth to two beautiful baby girls. They were so precious. It has been five years and I can't believe how old they are. I can still remember the day they were born. I had a scheduled c-section on the 30th, but they had other plans. I went in for a non stress test like I did three days a week for a month. I woke up that morning not feeling so well. My mom asked if I wanted her to go with me and I told her no I would be fine. I got there and while I was sitting there getting monitored they noticed I was having contractions and I told them it was starting to hurt. So they sent me down to labor and delivery. They again hooked me up to the machines and said they would watch my contractions. I thought for sure this was just going to be normal and they would send me home. I called my mom and told her what was going on. My dad was by the hospital so he came to see me. I told him that I was sure they were going to just send me home. So he left. Shortly after that the nurse came in with the stuff to start an IV I asked her what was going on she said that I was going to have the babies today. I totally freaked out. I called my mom who then called my dad and in about less that an hour I had family there with me. In the meantime I called Rusty and told him that they were taking the babies. He rushed to the airport and got on the next flight. The doctor said we could wait for him but they could not give me pain meds because I was going into surgery. The pain got worse and worse and my progress in labor was growing. I then asked my mom if she would come into the room with me.

I delivered them one minute a part. They were so tiny but so cute. I only got a quick look because they were sent to the NICU. My mom got to go with them and she keep updating me. Rusty arrived at the hospital about 2 hours after they were born. Madison Jo Griffin was born first weighing 4lbs 2oz. Mia Jeannine Griffin was born one minute later weighting 5lbs 11oz. I had what was called twin to twin sydrome. That means that the placenta grew together and was only feeding Mia that is why I went into labor. Madison was in the NICU for 7 days and Mia was able to come home with me 4 days later.

I love my girls so much. They have brought so much joy to my life as do their brother. I am grateful for a husband who works and allows me to stay home with them. They are going to start Kindergarten in the fall. Time does fly. I will post some pictures of them when they were born.

Happy 5th Birthday Mia and Madison.

Motherhood: An Eternal Partnership with God

I saw this video today and thought a lot about being a mother. I love being a mother to three great children. I am so blessed that Heavenly Father has given me the chance to raise these special spirits. I hope that I can do the best that I can. There are times when you feel like you just want to give up and not do this ever again. I have been there. I went through a rough time about 2 years ago. During that time I realized how grateful I was for a loving husband and kids that truly loved me. I know that being a mother can be tough but it is worth it in the end. We may have struggles but what would life be like if we didn't have a few ups and downs. I am truly grateful to my husband Rusty. He has been a blessing to me in my life. I know that we are suppose to be together for time and all eternity. Most men would have probably left me and the situation but he stuck there. He was there everyday for me. I can't thank him enough for what he has done for me.

Our little family moved to Colorado almost 5 years ago. I had never lived anywhere except Utah. I was so nervous and a little scared. My twin girls were only 2 1/2 months old and I was moving to a new state with no friends or family to help me. That move is probably the best thing we did as a family. Rusty and I have grown so close and our marriage has been so good. We have developed friendships that will last a long time. I have made some really great friends that I would consider sisters. I love it here in Colorado and never want to leave. I know that this is where we need to be and Heavenly Father sent us here for a reason.

I love my family and cherish each and every one of them. I love my parents. They taught me right from wrong and taught me how to be a great mother. I love my in laws. They have always been there for me and they are such a blessing for me in my life. I hope that I can continue to be a great mother, wife and friend for a long time.

Happy Birthday Tyler!!!!!!!The big 9

Today my sweet Tyler turns 9. I can't believe that 9 years ago I became a mother. Tyler brings so much joy to our family. He loves school and sports. He loves anything that his dad likes. He is like a little Rusty. It was a rough delivery but worth it completely. I don't know how we would live without Ty guy in our lives. He is getting so big, he comes to my shoulders already. Time flies so fast. Enjoy your childern why they are young. Next year all my kids will be in school all day. What am I going to do with my self????????? I am sure I will find something to do.

Nine years ago I was being induced because I was so large and uncomfortable. Tyler was not due for another 10 days but I just could not wait. I got to the hosital at 8 o'clock and had my epidural right away. Then it was just the waiting game. Sometime in the afternoon they came to give me more medicine in my drip and the medicine went into my blood stream and I passed out. I guess the doctor said crap and left the room, when he came in he turned on the light and had to put in a new epidural. When the light came on I thought I was dying because they say you see a light when you die. Luckily I did not die and I was just fine after that. After pushing for about three hours they decided that Tyler's head was too big and they needed to do an emergency c-section because Tyler's stats were going way down. They rushed me in and had him out in about 5 min. The epidural wore off and I could feel the pain and the cutting so they gave me tons of medicine and I was pretty out of it. I don't remember anything untill later that night. On the video we have I was shaking really bad. I don't really remember. Tyler was born at 7:11pm he was 8lbs 2oz. He was so cute. He had a really bad cone head because he was in the birth canal so long. On the video we have my family asked Rusty if I had seen the head, and told him to keep the hat on.
Tyler was perfect. He was so cute and cuddly. He nursed very well we had no problems. I can remember that day like it was yesterday. I am so glad that Heavenly Father gave him to me to raise. I love you Tyler.

The other cool thing when he was born was that the 2002 Winter Olympics were in Salt Lake City. It was really nice to be home and watch all the events from home. We did drive up to the U where they had everything out.

Christmas 2010

We went to Utah this year for Christmas. We had so much fun. We got to see family and the kids had a lot of fun with cousins. Rusty and I took a night out and celebrated our 12 year wedding anniversary. My parents took the kids and we went to dinner and a movie and spent the night at a hotel. It was lots of fun. It was nice to spend some quality time with my husband. I love you Rusty and hope we can celebrate more anniversary's together. The kids had a good Christmas this year. Rusty's parents did something cool this year. They sent a package every week starting December 1st and the kids really enjoyed that. They really looked forward to the package every week. It was great because they got to play and enjoy the things they got rather than getting everything all at once. We hope the 2011 will bring us happiness this year.

We have two new members of our family. Madison and Mia got guinea pigs for Christmas. Madison named her's Ginger and Mia named her's Oreo. They are really cute and the girls love them. So that puts us to three pets. Reba our dog whom we love and the guinea pigs. Our house stays busy.

We hope that all of our family and friends have a great year. Enjoy the pictures.

I can't find my camera to post the pictures of the guinea pigs. You can go to my Facebook page and see them.

Happy 12th Anniversary

On December 19, 1998 I married my true love in the Salt Lake Temple. For 12 years I have loved and cared for my husband. We have been through some good times and bad times but we have always been there for each other. We have three beautiful children that bring so much joy to our lives. Tyler is 8 and loves sports and likes anything that his father likes. Madison is a sweet quiet and shy child who is very loving. Mia is our outgoing, loud and funny one. She says some of the funniest things. We are so lucky to have them in our lives. I love Rusty so much and hope to continue to have a great life with him. I want to grow old with him and see our children grow up and have kids. I love you Rusty with all my heart and I am glad that this year we get to go back to the temple where we were married. We are going to Utah for Christmas and get to go see the temple all lit up with lights. I can't wait. I think the kids will enjoy it. We hope that all of our family and friends have a Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Here are some pictures from our wedding day.

Thanksgiving 2010

We stayed home for Thanksgiving and had some friends over. Well we consider them family since all of us don't have family around. The Allen's came they have 4 kids. The Gardner's came and they have 3 kids and Scoty was here with his 3 kids and the Allen's brought a friend. We had so much fun eating and hanging out. The girls all went to Old Navy and Michaels and then we hit Walmart at midnight. I have to say I usually like to go shopping but it gets harder each year. Stores are opening earlier and earlier. I had friends that were up all night and came home to sleep. I value my sleep a little more. I also did some shopping online which was fun. You can shop in your pajamas. We all hope that you have a great Holiday Season. We are off to Utah for Christmas this year. December is a big month for us. My birthday is on the 16th and our anniversary is the 19th. So we stay busy with celebrating those. I hope all is well with our family and friends.
